By: Marcus | September 24th, 2009Sorry for being a week late with this, I was waiting for the video on youtube.
In round 6 action we saw John Aloisi miss a penalty, which cost Sydney the match and handed new club North Queensland there first ever win after Robbie Fowler’s screamer. A lacklustre Melbourne were held by Wellington. After opening the scoring through a brilliantly struck Hernandez free kick the Phoenix pegged one back and were ultimatly unlucky not to win the match with Glen Moss making some key saves against his former club. Over in Adelaide Cassio hit a stunning free kick do see them passed Central Coast, while in Newcastle Miller and Henrique scored to hand Brisbane all 3 points over the jets.
The match of the week was played in Perth as ladder leaders Gold Coast came to visit. Perth hit the first 2 goals through Jelic, who has formed a deadly partnership with Mile Sterjovski and Sikora tucked home the second. United scored from a corner early in the second half before stealing a point when who else but Shane Smeltz popped up in the 89th minute.
